Can you put selfish interests aside for the greater good?

This is the topic of my latest Psychology Today article.

So, what say you?

Can you put your personal agenda aside for the sake of others?

As I offer in the piece:

• Business is a team sport and you can’t win if the business fails.

• The pursuit of parochial interests creates hidden friction, and hurts both the company and the individual.

• When leaders consistently put their team’s needs above their own interests, they gain presence and influence.

Remember, a leader’s true role within any organization is to engage and inspire others to shine; it is not to feather one’s own nest.
