Q and A on Culture Change from a recent Keynote that I Delivered
One of my more popular keynote speeches this past year discussed that the next-normal workplace is characterized by open, diverse, agile, and networked organizations–one’s where staff from all over the planet work together in remote and hybrid settings. This new paradigm will come with a whole host of leadership challenges learn how to overcome them.
This presentation always generates enthusiasm among attendees and inspires all kinds of questions. What follows are some of those questions and my responses to them:
Q 1: How often should a firm reinvent its company culture?
JK: There isn't a set frequency at which a company should reinvent its culture. It really depends on the needs and goals of the company, as well as its alignment with the strategic direction that the leadership team is setting for the organization. Some companies may need to make significant changes to their culture in order to adapt to a changing business world, while others may be able to maintain their culture with only minor adjustments over time.
Ultimately. it's important for a company to regularly assess its culture and make needed changes in support of the achievement of a company's goals.
